Vell, here it is! Our year in review. This vas a rather difficult year for me. January started out very sorrowful because I had to deal vith a personal loss. At first, I didn’t think I vould even compose a year in review this time since 2025 vas not so great, but then I decided to just do a more condensed version of the happier highlights. I am so grateful for Team Gregula because they helped me get things accomplished after I had proper time to grieve and get my mind back on track. Countess Gregula composed creative coverage and designed most of our ghoulish graphics. Deadly Dex authored several more audacious articles. Plus, our contributing photographer Robert Dicke continued to snap more sinister shots to include in our engaging editoral entries.
Once again, I added some new events to our review roster that ve vere lucky enough to be granted media credentials and/or complimentary access. Such notable new events vere Nightmare Weekend Chicago, Midwest Haunters Convention (MHC), Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN), and Time Warp Express. Ve love new and fresh events like an open grave to get our review skills flowing for our followers.
Team Gregula returned to the Wheaton All-Night Flea Market in the hot summer month of August. Then during October, ve made another ghoulish guest appearance for the fourth time in a row at the Wheaton Haunted Halloween Flea Market in all our undead glory in order for me to judge another costume contest. Many FANGS to Tim Zurko for the invites back to his pop culture connections.
My Facebook Group entitled Count Gregula’s Horror Index is running for the third year of fear vith many more macabre members sharing all their gruesome gigs, eerie events, and alluring accomplishments vith the rest of the Facebook community. Many FANGS to my team of admins that includes myself, Countess Gregula, and Branka Stephens along vith moderator Deadly Dex. They all keep my ghoulish group going strong.
Spooky Season in September and October vas vonderful! To begin the frights just right, ve vere able to go see our longtime fiend Svengoolie during our media visit to review After 5 at the Field: Halloween Underground MISadventure at the historic Field Museum. Ve made visits to some of our favorite haunted attractions such as The Catacombs at St Pascal, Scream Scene Haunted House at Skokie Park District, and The Park After Dark at Chase Park. Plus, ve added a new haunt to our lurid list this year vhen ve vere given press passes to go lurk and review House of Creeps in Schaumburg.
In November, ve made our annual terror trek to cover Days Of The Dead: Chicago. Ve love the dead and they love us! During the same vicked veekend, ve vent across the street to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center to cover our first Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN).
December brought out special appearances by Santa Gregula, my festive vife Mrs. Santa Gregula, and our son Gregula Jr. to go review Time Warp Express at Volo Museum. Kris Kringle, Mrs. Kringle, and their enjoyable elves at Volo Museum definitely know how to put together a humorous holiday show for all ages to enjoy. It vas a holly jolly joy!
To enjoy the yuletide, Countess Lily and I vent to see festive lights and ate the annual hummus at Pita Inn to celebrate Cryptmas Eve. New this year, Deadly Dex joined us for some festive “Friendsmas” company and merry meals at Omega Restaurant & Bakery on Cryptmas Day. Now, here ve are at the end of 2025.
Remember be ghoul to yourself and each other. Undead health and horror harmony to all in the new year. Happy 2026!
