Vell, here it is! Our annual Year in Review. This vas a satisfying year for Team Gregula. Ve made a full comeback vith reviews and recaps of engaging events on this official entertainment blog for us as macabre media since losing our previous ChicagoNow blog of 10 years back in August 2022. Countess Gregula composed extra crafty coverage. Deadly Dex did more devious and detailed articles. Plus, a special shout-out to our contributing photographer Robert Dicke for joining us at all the hip happenings to take even more important pics to include in our enticing articles. I am very graveful for all the helping claws that make Team Gregula a success.
This year I also added some new events to our review roster that ve vere lucky enough to be granted press access. Such notable new events vere the 2024 Discover Boating Chicago Boat Show, Chicago Steampunk Exposition 2024, the 25th Anniversary Chicago Horror Film Festival, and Haunting with Friends Presents The Spooky Market. That is the only vay ve roll vith the cool ghouls.
Then Team Gregula vent back to the Wheaton All-Night Flea Market to go visit our oldest fright fiend Butch Patrick vho portrayed Eddie Munster on The Munsters from 1964 to 1966. Ve made another ghoulish guest appearance for the third time in a row at the Wheaton Haunted Halloween Flea Market in all our undead gory. Many FANGS to Tim Zurko for the invites back to his pop culture engagements.
Team Gregula once again took a road trip and traveled to Wiscon-SIN in order to review our fairly fiendish favorite the Milwaukee State Fair. Many FANGS to the PR people at the State Fair for velcoming us back each year. Ve really love the hospitality. Cheese! Glorious cheese!
My Facebook Group entitled Count Gregula’s Horror Index is running for the second year of fear vith many more macabre members vho have shared all their gruesome gigs, eerie events, and alluring accomplishments vith the rest of the Facebook community. Many FANGS to my team of admins that includes myself, Countess Gregula, and Branka Stephens along vith moderator Deadly Dex. They all keep my ghoulish group going strong.
In October, ve made Spooky Season visits to some of our favorite haunted attractions such as Midnight Terror Haunted House, The Catacombs, and Scream Scene Haunted House. Ve added a new haunt to our list this year vhen ve vere given a personal invitation to go lurk at the vast Abandoned Haunted House Complex in Wiscon-SIN.
During November, ve made our annual terror trek to cover Days Of The Dead: Chicago. Ve love the dead and they love us! I vas vorthy enough to take a personal photo vith Alice Cooper amongst other celebrated thespians of terror. Goals!
December brought up a special appearance by Santa Gregula vith his vife to go play vith Krampus at 13th Floor Chicago. The ghouls and gals at 13th Floor Entertainment definitely know how to put the scares in the their toy sacks and the evil elves vill make you feel naughty instead of nice. It vas better being naughty again this time.
To enjoy the yuletide, ve vent to see festive lights and ate the annual hummus at Pita Inn to celebrate Cryptmas Eve and then had our main merry meals at Omega Restaurant & Bakery on Cryptmas Day. Now here ve are at the end of 2024. How sveet it vas!
