It has been a hot and busy summer for us at Da Crypt so far. Too much sunlight – UGH!!! Luckily Count and I have stocked up on the SPF 5000 because we decided to check out Bengtson’s SummerFest 2024 last weekend! Yep, the same fun farm that brings the Pumpkin Fest every Fall is celebrating summer in their own special way.

Even though the calendar said August (over 90°F!) there was an October feel as we got to visit the Fun Barn with its kid-friendly scenes such as trick-or-treating on a starry night and animals singing for our entertaiment.

The Haunted Barn was also in it’s spooky glory with spooky and funny scenes to tickle our Halloween loving hearts.

But it’s still summertime and the farm was decorated with flowers and green plants instead of hay bales and pumpkins. Even the See-Through skeleton band was dressed for the sunny season.

Refreshing tasty treats included frosty Strawberry Shake-Ups made with real fruit, strawberry donuts and cold apple cider.

As usual, Count Gregula was a hit with the kids! Everyone loves a vampire, especially one that is brave enough to come out during a hot and sunny day!

Any questions we had were answered by the nice lady at the Infarmation booth.

Bengtson’s also has an amusement park side to its farm, plenty of rides both thrilling and family-friendly. Our favorite is Tractor Town where you get to ride in your own little tractor with animatronic scenery all about.

No trip to Bengtson’s Farm is complete without a visit to their General Store, which is normally the Halloween shop but instead had summer goodies for your perusal. We picked up some delicious pretzels in many different flavors such as lemon, orange and coffee with cream.

We had a really fun time at Bengtson’s SummerFest 2024 in spite of the sweaty hot weather. Looking forward to September to experience their Fall Fest… can’t wait for that!
