Hey there nerds and nerdesses! Looks like the world is getting back to normal because the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo aka C2E2 has finally returned to its rightful place in the spring season. Team Gregula had the pleasure of enjoying a fine weekend full of heroes, villains, games and fun!!! This geektacular event took place at McCormick Place, March 31 – April 2, 2023 and there was so much going on it was hard to keep up.
New lighted signage at the entrance gave the con a modern feel.
Giant Cookie Monster welcomed us into the convention area!
Walking around the main floor we got to see a lot of cool displays, including a Captain America truck and creatures from Aliens Resurgence.
Looks like Grogu managed to sneak in too!
Count and Countess unfortunately weren’t able to make it for an in-person appearance this year, but Count Gregula Junior joined our Team at C2E2 and had a blast!

There are always cool things to buy from the vendors. So much pop culture, not enough money – hahaha!!!
The best part of the con was winning a sweet Wild Bill’s soda mug from one of the Free and Fun Bingo games being played throughout the weekend. Those usually go for $40-$60 so it was an amazing souvenir for us. Unlimited sodas all day for one low price? Yes, please!!!
The only thing that I felt C2E2 needed to improve on (and I’m sure many of us would agree) is to bring back the red carpeting that used to be on the floors. Not only did it make the event look it’s best, it was better for our poor tired feet than the the plain hard concrete we walked on.
A ghoul time was had by all at C2E2, and we can’t wait til next April (yay for springtime) to do it all over again!
