The Wisconsin State Fair is a Great Fair! It’s also one that the Gregula family tries not to miss out on every summer. This faBOOlous event took place from August 1-11, 2024 and we spent the last Friday before the Fair closed soaking in the sights and sounds.
There is tons of parking, luckily we had a media pass so we got to park in the lot closest to the Fair entrance. It can definitely be a hike if you get there on a very busy day! They used to have little trams to drive you up to the entrance from your parking space but I didn’t see them this year.
The first thing we did when we got inside the Fairgrounds was go directly to the Wisconsin Products Pavilion. This magical place has practically everything the state has to offer. From dairy delights (duh) to meaty morsels, there was something for everyone. Free samples were available at many of the tables making this building a tasty treat.
Afterwards we walked around the fair and every few steps we took, there was a different band playing music from rock to blues to country (and western!). There were lots of carnival rides including a giant Ferris Wheel and a sky ride which makes you feel like you’re flying. We didn’t get a chance to ride anything but there’s always next time!
It was super hot that day so we decided to spend the rest of our day in the main Expo building. This is the place to go for all your shopping needs! There were hot tubs and mattresses for sale. If you need a sauna or treadmill you can get one there too. Lots of demonstrations of appliances and gift shopping by the many vendors at the Fair.
We ended our visit with the one and only Wisconsin State Fair cream puff, a tasty treat we never miss! Made with fresh Prarie Farms cream filling in a light airy shell dusted with powdered sugar, these were definitely a taste of Heaven! They also tasted better because they were free as I had won a 6-pack back in January on National Cream Puff Day! Count Gregula Jr enjoyed them immensely!
Our little family had a wonderful time at the Wisconsin State Fair and hope to return next year!
