Our favorite time of year is in full swing, so Team Gregula just had visit one of their fiendishly favorite spooky places – Scream Scene Haunted House! Located inside the Abandoned Skokie Water Playground that is part of the Skokie Park District, Scream Scene is a perfect spot to take a date or scare your kids, haha.
The haunt location is very easy to find because their SCREAM SCENE sign in gigantic letters that are now computerized to change colors isn’t too hard to miss, muahaha…
The sinister scares began as soon as we exited the car and masked maniacs chased frightened teenagers around and around the parking lot! Very amusing to this Gen X demon *wink*. Wait entertainment was excellent as always, but the line wasn’t too long so we got in rather quickly, the Speed Pass does come in handy, highly recommended!
Scream Scene makes proper usage of their smaller space with some fun frights. Dark passages lead into various scary scenes such as a doctor’s office with demented patients, a very weird closet and laundry room that seemed to have a life of its own! The beast part is still the endless striped circus maze with psycho clowns that has been a mainstay for years and is designed to get you lost and disoriented as you never know will be lurking in the darkness. This haunt is very much designed for a teenage crowd with youthful scare actors, but don’t let that deter your visit because each room is well done with great attention given to the deadly details.
Scream Scene was a fang-tastic way to spend a spooky evening with Da Count. Can’t wait to go back next year for more fear!
