Even though it seems like it’s still Summer, the first day of Autumn arrived faster than we thought. So Team Gregula (aka Da Count, Junior and me) decided to unleash those Fall feelings with a road trip to a family favorite – Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest!

Our fang-mily decided to go earlier than usual to not only beat the crowds, but avoid the crummy October weather. It was actually the first time we’ve gone before Da Count’s Boo-Day! Since it was a warm and sunny Friday afternoon there was a decent crowd, but no where near the volume they get in October which was pretty darn awesome. The nice weather was also an excuse to wear our summer outfits! First time at Bengtson’s in shorts for DaCount!!!

Pumpkins! TONS of pumpkins!!! The piles of bright orange pumpkins are always a welcome sight to see. Our favorite pumpkin was the one that kind of looked like a butt, haha!

Not only were there kiddie rides, but also ones that whole family could join in on like Tractor Town, Hootenanny Railroad and more. You could say Bengtson’s is the Six Flags of pumpkin farms!

Other fun things to do at Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest are going into The Haunted Barn to get scared silly and the Fun Barn for more kid friendly entertainment. We also had a chance to go into the barn privately after closing to check out the spookiness without other people around. Thank you Scott Bengtson!

Don’t forget the delicious food! Bengtson’s has all kinds of yummy options from BBQ to tacos to cider doughnuts. This year I finally got an ear of the buttery roasted sweet corn and it was AH-mazing!
The best part of going to Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest is tradition. It always feels good to relive old times and make new memories. Seeing the old familiar spooky decorations and animated figures always make us feel happy inside.

Last but not least, we made sure to check out the Halloween shop above the Haunted Barn. Loads of goodies for all your spooky needs!

Team Gregula had an amazing time at Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest 2023 and can’t wait til next year to visit again! Sincere thanks to the Bengtson family for their wonderful hospitality!!!
