<\/p>\nWhen our baby vampire Junior asked if we could go to a water playground, Da Count and I said “SURE” but it will be an abandoned water playground, bwahaha! So the Gregula fang-mily piled into the G-Koach and headed on over to the Abandoned Skokie Water Playground in Skokie, IL (obviously) to visit the one and only Scream Scene Haunted House,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Conveniently located by Oakton and Skokie Blvd, the haunt location is very easy to find and parking is plentiful. Their SCREAM SCENE color changing sign with gigantic flashing led letters is easily visible from the street. Tons of people enjoy taking selfies in front of it.<\/p>\n

As we pulled into the parking lot, we noticed that a huge crowd started gathering at opening time. The line was so long it stretched into the parking lot!<\/p>\n

Loads of teenagers were hanging out and watching them get startled by a creature wearing a creepy gas mask. He seemed to really enjoy stalking everyone.<\/p>\n

Even though the line was super long, we got to the front practically right away because we had our Speed Passes. Team Gregula highly recommends the Speed Pass option, at $23 it\u2019s a bargain compared to a lot of other haunts. The waiting area is outside and we got lucky because it was a nice evening. Usually it\u2019s either cold or rainy or both, so hooray for that!<\/p>\n

We lined up and made small talk with the staff and a cranky vampire lady while we waited to go inside. When it was our turn, we were hex-cited to go through the door for a scary good time.<\/p>\n
And it was definitely scary! We navigated our way along the darkened hallways to a fun rotating blacklight tunnel that felt like we\u2019re about to get turned upside down. . There were many fun and scary rooms stuck as the laundry area which i ran past so i wouldn’t get covered in dirty clothes haha!!! We also went thru their famous striped wall circus maze, which was full of crazy clowns. SO MANY CLOWNS. There was also a toy room with a bunch of creepy dolls that was not a place I wanted to stay and play! We got cozy with the inflatable walls (which we affectionately refer to as Satan\u2019s Anus). Still not a fan, but it can be a squishy good time if you like that sort of thing.<\/p>\n
Scream Scene Haunted House definitely upped their game with the scares this year. There were lots of unexpected twists and turns, really good animatronics and the actors were fang-tastic with the in your face frights. It was a hex-cellent time, and highly recommended for adults and teens (small children not so much). Junior had a fang-tastic time and so did we!<\/p>\n
