So to kick things off for 2026, we were invited to check out the Chicago stop of Serial Killer: The Exhibition World Tour at Cinespace Studios located in the city’s West Side. This massive international exhibit dives into criminology, forensic science, and the history of serial crime using the world’s largest collection of authentic killer artifacts. Following runs in London, Paris, Berlin, and its U.S. premiere in Atlanta, the tour is currently bringing its mix of real evidence and expert insights to Chicago.

The entrance to the exhibit is actually located at 2428 W 15th St, so make sure you put that in your GPS instead of Cinespace Studios so you don’t get lost. Parking is available, but it’s valet only ($23 – not too pricey) so if you prefer self-park you might need to find something on the street. Just look out for any permit parking restrictions to avoid a ticket.

To access the building you first have to go through a loooong spooky tunnel under the train tracks. The walls are decorated with photos of various serial killers and there is atmospheric music to set the mood. You get the creepy before the creepy!

Now this is not just your average everyday pop-up exhibition, this event is on the scale of a museum. I mean it is HUGE. There are 40 rooms in total with detailed information about over 100 serial killer cases throughout the world. The items on display are authentic evidence, not just screen based true crime. There are hundreds of explanatory texts and
visual panels alongside original materials, reconstructions, and immersive interpretation. You literally need hours to see everything!

Even though the exhibit is a serious place of information, there is a lingering sense of spookyness. The music and darkness made it feel like a haunted attraction, which was awesome. There were a few scenes which were a bit on the extreme side, but authenticity is very important here.

One of the first rooms was about the history of serial killers and those who fit the mold like Gilles de Rais and Erzsebet Bathory before the term was even created. In this room we also learned about the earliest murderers like H.H. Holmes, Jack the Ripper and Albert Fish.

There were a surprising amount of women who were serial killers including Leonarda Cianciulli, known as the “Soap-Maker of Correggio,” and Aileen Wuornos.

You will see some of the most evil and familiar faces on the walls including Ed Kemper, Ted Bundy, The Moors Murderers, Richard Ramirez “The Night Stalker” and David Berkowitz “Son of Sam” who also provided a personal video for the Chicago stop.

Being that we are located in the Midwest, local killers such as John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer and Ed Gein each had their own dedicated rooms. Gacy had an additional room for Pogo the Clown. As a Chicago Exclusive, three never-before-displayed Gacy paintings were featured among the items on display.

Our ghoul fiend John Borowski provided many items from his personal collection. Nicolas “Nico” Claux who was a convicted French serial killer himself has also provided items from his extensive collection for the exhibit.

Some of the most interesting displays were of the execution styles ranging from the gas chamber to the electric chair and a setup of lethal injection procedure. There was also a room dedicated to forensics which was really cool.

A really nice touch at the end was a wall with names of the victims of these killers. It was a good wayto keep the memory of these poor souls alive.

If you’re looking for a good night of education and real life horror, Serial Killer: The Exhibition is an amazing event to attend. I would recommend however that attendees should not be much younger than 13, but it is up to the individual families to decide. Da Count and I had a Fangtastic time!

**FOUR FANGS UP**

Serial Killer: The Exhibition is located at Cinespace Studios.

Public Entrance 2428 W 15th St, Chicago, IL 60608

Parking Lot: 2406 W 15th St, Chicago, IL 60608

Open September 5, 2026 – January 24, 2027.

Closed on Monday and Tuesday.

From Wednesday to Thursday: 11:00 – 6:00 (last entry), exhibition closes at 7:00

Friday and Sat: 11:00 AM– 8:00 PM (last entry), exhibition closes at 9:00 PM.

Sun: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (last entry), exhibition closes at 7:00 PM.

Click HERE for more information and to purchase tickets.

Connect vith Count Gregula’s Crypt

Follow us on Facebook.

Follow us on Instagram.

Subscribe to us on YouTube.

Greetings mortals and morsels, spooky season is in full swing and Da Count and I couldn’t be more hex-cited!
