If there\u2019s one thing Riot Fest is known for, it\u2019s delivering the unexpected. But Riot Fest 2025 took things to a whole new level. From legendary comedy-rock to punk rock animatronics\u2014and a long-awaited special guest\u2014Team Gregula was there to see it all!<\/p>\n
We hit the ground running on Friday, and the energy was immediate. Where else can you check out a cool Field Museum display right next to a live boxing ring?<\/p>\n
?The absolute highlight of the day, though, was Weird Al Yankovic. He powered through a setlist of his greatest hits, and after years of waiting, I finally got to hear “Eat It” live. It was absolutely fang-tastic and set the bar insanely high for the rest of the festival.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Da Count and I saw GWAR live for the very first time! We opted to stay well out of the splash zone to avoid the blood, which turned out to be a solid choice. Met the band after their set, they were totally cool and a lot calmer than you see on stage!<\/p>\n
Next up was The Beach Boys, and we got a massive surprise. After years of Riot Fest trying to make it happen, John Stamos finally showed up! He filled in on drums and vocals and did a hex-cellent job. The rain started coming down during their set\u2014which ruined our chances of getting good photos\u2014but singing along in the rain made it iconic anyway.<\/p>\n
By Sunday, we arrived at the grounds a bit later than planned. Green Day was headlining, and while we caught a bit of their set from afar, we really wanted to go see RiotLand and boy was it a riot! We finally paid our respects to the famous John Stamos butter sculpture in all its dairy glory and hung out at the Logan Arcade tent playing free arcade games. This is where we discovered one of the coolest animatronic bands since the Rock-afire Explosion\u2013The Biscuits, a retrofit of the classic “Beagles” animatronic band playing punk covers of The Misfits. We had a really good time and I don’t regret not going into the crowd for Green Day at all.<\/p>\n
Riot Fest 2025 truly had a little something for everyone\u2014weird art, heavy metal, classic pop, arcade games, and nostalgia overload.<\/p>\n
?Top Tip: If you or someone in your group has a handicap parking sticker, take advantage of it! Parking was an absolute breeze for us and saved a ton of energy for walking the grounds.<\/p>\n
?It\u2019s hands-down the best way to see a massive variety of acts in a short amount of time. I had an absolute blast, and I\u2019m already counting down the days until next year!<\/p>\n
