The Progressive International Motorcycle Show :

Progressive International Motorcycle Show 2012 Chicago

Last weekend was opening weekend for the Chicago Auto Show 2012, but if you prefer your vehicles with two wheels, there was an alternative treat waiting for all in Rosemont, IL.

The Progressive International Motorcycle Show 2012 roared into the Donald Stephens Convention Center last Friday (2.10.12) and "Count Gregula's Crypt" had the honor of being invited to the Media Preview before the actual show started. We were greeted warmly by the staff at the Progressive Insurance display where we were given a shopping bag and a card with a QR code on it. We were ushered to the first booth where the card was scanned to find out what prize we won. Crypt Crew member Greg was the lucky winner of a custom T-shirt while Linda got an awesome Progressive tire gauge. Afterwards, we were both invited to sit on an acutal Harley-Davidson motorcycle where you can have your photo taken "with" Flo the Progressive Insurance lady. There was a choice of fun backgrounds to enhance the picture and the ability to directly post the photo to Facebook at the kiosk.

Then we were treated to a media "tour" of the show, which began with displays of Honda and Harley-Davidson new models for 2012, then were treated to lunch by the good folks at Harley-Davidson (thank you we were starved!). Other motorocycle manufacturers represented at the show included Can-Am, Triumph, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Zero Motorcycles (electric motorcycles!), Ducati and Star Motorcycles.

Celebrity guests included Leslie Porterfield (The World's Fastest Woman on a Motorcycle) and Rickey Gadson, who greeted fans and discussed the Kawasaki Zero to Hero Challenge, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to race against Gadson for the chance to WIN his 2012 Ninja ZX-14R.

Last but not least there was an awesome stunt show performed by the Smage Brothers who did the usual leaps and bounds, but in an exciting way that got into one of the brothers' face!

Till next year...

Unpleasant dreams!
